AB Tyres and Falken have teamed up to introduce the new model of FK 520 tyres, already available on the market. 

Remember that AB Tyres is the distributor and exclusive representative of the Japanese brand for Portugal, and the marketing to the final consumer is carried out through a network of more than 200 partners adhering to the AB Partner program (workshops and tire houses).

The launch event took place at Auto Calibragem Silvar, in Guimarães, and counted with the presence of the pilot Filipe Albuquerque, the Falken brand ambassador in Portugal.

The presence of the Portuguese driver was felt in the city and attracted dozens of fans who made sure to take advantage of the moment to win an autograph and take a picture with the world champion of endurance and winner of 24 hours Le Mans.

According to the Falken brand Ambassador, one of the brand’s interesting features, is the ability of the tyres to serve various purposes. " The tyres are A+ in the rain, which means they have excellent wet handling. These tyres provide greater safety and ensure more stability because they do not enter aquaplaning. Safety for me is always the most important due to the risks of my profession. Sometimes a temperature difference of 5ºC is enough to change tyres, with Falken this does not happen because the tyre adapts quickly".  

Also present at this event was Falken's Iberian director, Iuri Perez Alonso, who reinforced that the new technology used "allowed to change the appearance of the tyre to a more sophisticated image, and is coated with an aramid cover that gives the tyres the possibility of being faster and have a better structure so that the behavior of the car is more stable".

This new model, FK520, is a summer tyre made with nano-design technology, which according to the Iberian director of the brand "makes this tire perform well in cold weather and rain. In terms of sports performance, it is also well positioned, being accompanied by a high mileage efficiency". Since, on the road and day-to-day trips, the ideal is to have tires that react well in all circumstances, this is one of the assets of Falken tyres.

Its high quality is proven when we see Falken tyres being selected as original equipment for car models of some of the world’s leading brands, such as Porsche, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Toyota, among others. 

The commercial director of AB Tyres in Portugal, Paulo Henrique Santos says that "Currently, the brand is making major investments, namely in original equipment where it already offers several models. Something that gives great notoriety to the product is to put it together with brands and it is a great prestige for us to equip the Porsche Macan, this is a huge step in brand recognition".

The Falken brand belongs to the Japanese group Sumitomo which was born in 1613. This industrial group founded Falken in 1983 intending to be a high-quality brand for the European and American markets. 

The brand is represented in Portugal by Alves Bandeira Tyres, a project that began in 2014 and that immediately wanted to position itself in the market differently, implementing a strategy in the search for partners in all municipalities. Currently, there are about 200 and the trend is to increase this proximity.
